It was another scorching hot day in July 2021 and I was up in Boston, Lincolnshire to capture Natasha's and James's special day. The venue was The Poachers Country Hotel, a beautiful quirky venue which dates back to the 1800’s. I arrived just before 11am to capture the bridal prep and leaving me enough time to get some shots of the venue. Natasha had pulled out all the stops in planning her day, from an awesome pick n mix to a very impress cake baked by Purple Pumpkin Cake.

There was also a surprise in store for Natasha as her family had took her dogs on a photo shoot themselves and left a great picture of the two pups on the table for Natasha to see when she goes to sign the papers. I managed to also get a few shots for James getting ready who was on strict instructions to stay in his room!

After the bridal prep and one very hot room it was downstairs to capture the ceremony. James was a little nervous here but his best man was at hand to keep him at ease. After the ceremony Natasha told me they were doing a bubble exit rather than the traditional confetti. I loved all the little touches they had planned down to the message on the bubbles they were handing out. I do love a good confetti shot but bubbles do make for a great photo, especially when the sun is shining!

Then came the delicious canapés followed by the group formals. Natasha and James were much more focused on me just getting candid shots rather than spending too much time doing the formals and I personally think they are a much better way to remember the day. I spent a quick 5 minutes with Natasha and James just to get some shots of them as a newly married couple. I don't think I've met a couple who make each other laugh as much as they do! It makes taking photos very easy as every shot was a natural smile/laugh.

We then took our seats for the meal. I was lucky enough to have a main and dessert (perks of the job!). It was then on to the speeches, Natasha's son was up first and despite being a bit nervous he did a great job. All the speeches were full of funny stories which had everyone cracking up. It's my favourite photos to get when someone is hysterically laughing, it really captures what the day is all about. James' best man also kept everyone entertained with a magic trick using Natasha's wedding ring... luckily it didn't go wrong!

The little kid in me was really impressed by the retro arcade machine! They also had a photo booth too. After a few games of Donkey Kong it was time for the cake cutting and first dance. Natasha and James had a surprise in store. They started with a traditional dance before breaking into a rehearsed routine which took everyone by surprise. A great effort by both of them!
