A small intimate wedding at The Church Restaurant, Northampton.
This was another one which came from a Facebook conversation. I second shot Jenny's and Matt's wedding with Genevieve from Queen Bea Photography, I love working with other photographers as it's a chance to learn something new, every day is a school day. Genevieve was with Jenny during the bridal prep while I went to the venue to capture the details and await their arrival. The venue was The Church Restaurant in Northampton, a place only 15 minutes from my door. In fact my brother used to work at this very venue... it's a small world!
The venue is very cosy and has a lot of history since opening in 1138! Flash was required for majority of the ceremony as the beautiful stained glass doesn't allow much natural light through. Matt displayed all the textbook emotions from a groom on a wedding day. Nervous. Excited. Happy. Emotional. He went through it all, but his reaction when he saw Jenny coming down the aisle was amazing. The wedding was during the time Northampton was in Tier 3 of the lockdown restrictions, so of course masks on and a limit on the number of guests were in place.
After the ceremony, we headed to Delapré Abbey to get some shots of the newly married couple. I always love the walk to a destination with the married couple as everyone can't help but smile and say "congratulations!". Two lovely children came running up to tell Jenny how beautiful she looked too!
We then came back to get some group shots and prepared for the first dance. Again, due to the restrictions this was stripped back a bit with an area for the other guests to stand and watch. Matt's best man had an important role, he was in charge of the Facebook live stream. I was impressed with their set up with the ring light and it was such a great idea for those who couldn't travel to not miss out.
"Joe was a pleasure to work with and the guests even commented on what a lovely guy he was. The photos that Joe took were lovely and he even edited in some effects to some of them, which made them extra special for us. I would recommend him to any couple getting married."
There are two simple packages, ceremony only and full day. However, think of these as just a guide. Every wedding is different so I'd rather listen to you and see what you want.
Quite simply, if I'm there for the full day then I'm there to the end. No limits or restrictions. I stay for as long as you like.
