Small intimate ceremony at 5 Parishes Church in Mursley.
I began speaking to Charlotte through Facebook after she enquired about wedding photography. Her wedding was scheduled for October and little did we know we were due to go into a second lockdown not long after this. Because of the restrictions, only a small ceremony was allowed with no reception. However, there is something to be said about the smaller ceremonies, although it's probably not what you had pictured, the smaller weddings do seem a lot more intimate and adds to the significance of the day.
First up was to go to Charlotte's house to capture the bridal prep. Being based in Northampton it was only a short drive to Milton Keynes. Charlotte's make up was done by her friend and maid of honour Hannah who just happens to do it for a living (what a friend to have!). Charlotte and her bridesmaids were kitted out with personalised dressing robes which was a lovely touch.
Not long after Charlotte had finished getting ready, her carriage arrived! A 1938 Rolls Royce... wow! I love capturing the details around the wedding day, and when you have something like this turn up, it makes for a very exciting day! This was certain to be a head turning arrival, I very much enjoyed the view as I followed behind.
But before we left it was time for one of my favourite moments... the Fathers first look. I got in to position and awaited his arrival. I think it's fair to say photos like the one below will always be cherished. His reaction was amazing! Charlotte then presented him with a very special gift. Now, as a photographer you need to know when to stay back. This was clearly a very special moment for the family, so I kept my distance and just focused on the reaction shots.
After this, off we when to the church. I followed Charlotte in the Rolls as we headed to the 5 Parishes Church in Mursley. Upon arrival Charlotte was greeted by her grandmother, who got married at this very church herself. It was a real heart-warming moment seeing her reaction to her granddaughter arriving for her special day.
What followed was a lovely small ceremony, attended by Charlotte's and Neil's closest family. Charlotte told me of a tradition in Mursley which was when someone gets married at the church, the village come out and stand by the wall as the married couple exits the church. It was great to see this sense of community, especially given the COVID situation where we have been locked up in our homes for so long. After the ceremony came a very special moment. Charlotte challenged me to recreate a photo of her grandmother and grandfather's wedding day. Below you can see the photos side by side, I was so happy that I managed to capture this photo. Two generations, same venue.
Of course because of the restrictions, there was no reception afterwards. However, Charlotte has been in touch and now restrictions have been lifted, she had booked me to capture her reception too. I'm really looking forward to seeing them both again. It's really nice when you get rebooked by a couple again for another event! Here are some images of them leaving the Church after their ceremony... see you at your reception Charlotte!
"Joe was incredible and the photos are beautiful! My new husband and I genuinely couldn’t be happier! Joe took his time and was really invested in our day as much as us! I 100% recommend him as a wedding photographer!"
There are two simple packages, ceremony only and full day. However, think of these as just a guide. Every wedding is different so I'd rather listen to you and see what you want.
